a dream recalled during afternoon nap (late may)
re-call the image of a dream: evening light on the walls of the apartment i share with two other young men. feel of thick dust gritting our fingerprints and the creases of the eyes and neck. young men of modest means and fine tastes, unhappy men with unknowable occupations. in the apartment: the dishes we didn’t do, the shirts we ironed, the coats we donned, the moods we bore. this was summer in an unfamiliar city. this arrangement would not last the year.
the rest: signs and tribulations, sounds formed silently in the mouth and released, sound without ceremony, sound masquerade, sounds i like to hear, sound without form, in the other room a noising, noising, sounds not heard, sounds dreamed, sounds ambling, sounds stumbled
